Jewel Orchid

Jewel Orchid (commonly Ludisia discolor) is a stunning terrestrial orchid prized more for its foliage than its blooms. Its velvety, dark green to nearly black leaves are streaked with striking copper or red pinstripes that shimmer in the light. In winter, it produces delicate sprays of small white flowers that add extra charm. Unlike most orchids, it grows in soil rather than bark and thrives in low to medium indirect light, high humidity, and evenly moist, well-draining soil.
