Cold Drafts, Radiators & Windowsills: The Silent Plant Killers
March is tricky. One day feels like spring, the next is a full winter reminder. This temperature whiplash is hard on plants, especially those living near windows, doors, and heat sources.
Sun exposure has increased, but glass is still cold. Heating systems may still kick on overnight. These rapid shifts create stress that shows up as leaf drop, curling, or stalled growth.
Mid-March plant check:
- Are leaves touching cold glass at night?
- Is warm air blowing directly onto soil or foliage?
- Is the plant drying unevenly from heat below or behind?
Small moves matter right now. Pull plants back a few inches at night, rotate them weekly, and avoid major location changes until temperatures stabilize.
March care is about protection, not progress.
